Staff health prioritised for Wellbeing Week

The ResourceBank Wellbeing Week - 30th September - 4th October 2019

At ResourceBank, we value our teams and want to ensure they can be the best versions of themselves.

With this in mind, a new wellbeing policy was officially launched in September with a week of activities, workshops and treats to reinforce its positive messages.

The ResourceBank Wellbeing Week included a massage therapist to soothe aching limbs, a smoothie bar offering up nutritious drinks, some demonstrations of stretching and exercises to do at your desk, and a candlelit meditation room for staff to escape for a moment of calm.

Throughout the week sessions were held on personal wellbeing and finding work/life balance, and impartial tips and pointers for managing personal finances. The talks and workshops were well-attended, and the massage therapist proved so popular that an additional day was added to the agenda to accommodate demand.

Recruitment is an exciting and fast-paced environment and as strong advocates of agile working, we appreciate that being connected 24/7 can mean lines between home and work sometimes become blurred. A formal policy means we are placing high importance on the health and wellbeing of our staff, not only to ensure they feel valued and supported by their employer, but also to help them recognise the importance of investing in their own wellbeing.

HR Advisor Steph Bamford said:

“We wanted to demonstrate our commitment to investing in the wellbeing of our employees, which is a priority for us as a business. Recruitment is a busy, client facing career, so it’s important that our people are able to take time for themselves.

“Hopefully, everyone took something positive from the week, which proved really popular. We’ve sent out a survey to better understand what people found useful and what they’d like to see more of, which will help shape our future wellbeing agenda, and the results look really positive.”

As part of our ongoing commitment, we will incorporate wellbeing on the agenda in the quarterly  management meetings, which will outline what we want to achieve as a company. Developing a coherent programme of wellbeing initiatives is a vital part of moving towards a strategic, holistic approach to workplace health and a long-term commitment for ResourceBank.
