ResourceBank was delighted to sponsor the 2016 YMCA Training Apprentice Awards at the House of Commons on 14th March 2016. This annual event plays a key part in National Apprenticeship Week and celebrates the success stories of young apprentices across the UK.
The event attracted business leaders, learners and supporters from across the UK. Key speakers who presented awards included the Government’s apprenticeship “champion”, Nadhim Zahawi MP, Shadow BIS Secretary Angela Eagle MP, Secretary of State for Education, Nicky Morgan MP and, last but not least, Richard Pearson, CEO of ResourceBank.
Richard Pearson said “I was flattered to be in such esteemed company and I would like to thank our partners at YMCA for hosting such a worthwhile and enjoyable event. I found the stories of the learners who have used their apprenticeship training as a means to completely transform their lives truly inspirational and I congratulate them on their thoroughly deserved awards.
I was delighted to present the two awards on the night that recognised the contribution of employers. The SME Employer of the Year was won by Gravesham Community Leisure and the Large Employer of the Year by Jeesal Group. None of the awards nor the fantastic increase in apprenticeships within the UK would be possible without organisations prepared to go the extra mile in establishing programmes for apprentices and providing active mentoring and support to aid in their development.”
ResourceBank was joined at the event by clients and friends representing companies including World Duty Free, Grainger and Worrall, Wescot and Not on the High Street.
National Apprenticeship Week is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
ResourceBank has developed an outsourced recruitment service specifically tailored to meet the needs of companies with apprenticeship programmes. Clients include Vector Aerospace and Wolseley.
