£3,000 incentive for UK employers to hire apprentices

The Chancellor’s Plan for Jobs announced yesterday provides a huge incentive for employers to take on new Apprentices.  Imogen Pearson, head of ApprenticeLink gives further details.

The Chancellor’s Plan for Jobs announced on 8th July 2020 had the following key items:

  • £2000 payment to employers for each new apprentice they hire aged under 25
  • This payment in addition to the existing £1000 grant for every apprentice hired aged between 16-18 and for those under 25 with an Education Plan
  • £1,500 payment for each new apprentice hired aged 25 and over
