Sourcing key talent to drive global sales expansion
I have used ResourceBank in four separate businesses and they always accurately interpret the brief/requirement and have continuously come up with excellent candidates, most of whom remain key players in the organisations into which I recruited them. Many of the assignments that I have given ResourceBank have been very challenging and I find the company innovative, diligent and very attentive, regardless of who I deal with.”
Brush Group Background
BRUSH is the largest independent manufacturer of turbogenerators in the world, combining the resources of three major manufacturers of generators for gas turbine, steam turbine and hydro-turbine drive. With manufacturing plants in the UK, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic and with customers across all continents, BRUSH has a truly global presence.
The Challenge
The CEO of Brush had ambitious growth plans but knew that his business lacked individuals with the drive, ambition and skill to deliver the accelerated sales activity that was required. He wanted to retain his current sales professionals in project related roles, and test the market on a confidential basis to identify whether individuals with the correct qualities could be attracted by the opportunity of working with Brush.
The Solution
The Brush CEO had worked with ResourceBank in the past but was unsure whether we had the right network and skills to identify and attract hard-hitting sales professionals within Brush’s industry sector.
The ResourceBank Executive team undertook a three day research project which identified many ideal candidates, impressed the CEO and proved that they could select exactly the type of individual that Brush required.
A full European Search program was launched and, as a result, a comprehensive Longlist of candidates from the industry was developed. ResourceBank then undertook a telephone interview process on a confidential basis in order to establish whether the individuals had the motivations and qualities needed to succeed at Brush. Face to face interviews were then undertaken by Phil Brakewell, Head of Executive Search.
A Shortlist of candidates was presented to Brush and four candidates were selected for final interview with the Brush CEO. ResourceBank organised online testing and undertook in-depth confidential referencing; contacting individuals who had not been listed as referees by the candidate so that a full and true picture of their capabilities in a work setting could be understood.
The Outcome
All four final candidates so impressed the Brush CEO that all four were offered positions. The candidates have started their new roles and are driving forward the new sales strategy at Brush Group. Thanks to the success of the first Search campaign, ResourceBank have now undertaken Search campaigns for additional key roles within sales, marketing and finance for the Brush Group.
One of the candidates successfully placed by ResourceBank at Brush Group commented:
There were some challenging situations during the process but Phil never gave up and, ultimately, his help was essential for me to secure the new job. I would totally recommend Phil and ResourceBank for future assignments.”
