Seven reasons why I have joined ResourceBank

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Lisa Wormald as Director of Executive Search.  Lisa has nearly 20 years’ experience of managing retained executive search campaigns and she will be heading our executive team and coaching our RPO recruitment partners.  We asked her to introduce herself and explain why she has joined us:

At the beginning of May, I stepped into my new role as Director of Executive Search at ResourceBank.

It is helpful with any new beginning to offer some context, so I thought that I would write this blog to share with my network. Whether we have worked together in the past, or whether you have seen me fleetingly on the LinkedIn feed, here is my “why” for moving to my interesting new role:

ResourceBank has a customer-centric “listening” culture.

I put this one first for a reason. Many recruitment providers seek to consult and advise and, as experts, will guide their clients forward. But are they really listening? The guiding principle behind my career has been to listen first, and then listen some more. If you don’t understand your customers, then how can you possibly provide an excellent service.

I don’t believe in “hit and run” recruitment.

I have always struggled with the transient nature of recruitment relationships. You might do a great job on a role, but unless you make an effort to keep in touch with your clients, it is easy to simply “get paid and move on.” Because they have so much to offer to their clients, ResourceBank stick around and build long-term partnerships (such as the 10 year partnership with World Duty Free)

The portfolio of services is perfect for my HR network.

I have come across some super people over the past twenty years, and I firmly believe in continuing to add value to them where I can. The HR industry is facing unprecedented change – outsourcing certain HR & recruitment activities to a forward-thinking partner is driving a boom in the RPO industry and ResourceBank have the track-record and expertise to really help.

Executive search is about full immersion.

Having worked in HR Executive Search for nearly twenty years, I understand the value of embedding yourself as a trusted search partner. I built my own business through personal recommendation and referrals, carried on the same approach at Harvey Nash, and am delighted to join a business that has customer-centricity at their very core.

I understand how I can help ResourceBank to grow.

As well as leading and growing the executive search practice, I will be playing a role in coaching and developing consultants across the wider business. I want to be making a difference to my colleagues as well as my clients. I know that ResourceBank’s strong array of services will benefit many in my network.

Their award-winning RPO solutions are outstanding.

When you outsource anything, you don’t want to have sleepless nights about what is delivered. I am going to be shouting from the rooftops about our RPO solutions because I know how effective they are. It is a pretty special feeling to be able to adopt an industry-leading service proposition as my own.

The stuff that they care about is the stuff I care about.

I walk into the office and feel at home. The commute along the Shropshire country lanes leaves the bustle of Birmingham behind me and puts me in the mood to take my time with my clients and candidates. When your employer encourages you to invest your time in relationships, job satisfaction isn’t far away.

If some (or all) of these seven reasons resonate with you, and you want to explore how we might make a difference for you, please feel free to get in touch with me.
